HEAT GENERATING SHOE
Key Skills: Machining, fabrication, laser cutting, innovative design
In this personal project, I sought out to design a solution for the freezing cold Cambridge winters. This component comes in a pair and attaches to the bottom of a pair of shoes. I use simple mechanics to convert the mechanical energy of walking into electrical by back-driving a motor. The electrical energy is then run through a very covert line of thermal heating wires (intended for clothing and safe) lining the interior of a coat. Just by walking, this device can make your several degrees warmer.
Remarkable Achievements:
● Increase body temperature by 3-5 °F
● Powered by walking, no battery needed
